Outsourcing local SEO

Outsourcing local SEO for your franchise brand or retail chain

Local SEO for all locations, carried out by specialists, with no extra work for your team.

By Gijs Bodenstaff · Updated:

Outsourcing local SEO means a specialist takes over the local visibility of all your locations: Google Business Profiles, name, address and phone number, reviews, location pages and local authority. That applies to franchise brands and to retail chains with their own branches. With us, it costs from €99 per location per month, with one report for the whole chain.

In brief: outsourcing local SEO

  • Outsourcing local SEO means specialists take over the visibility of all your locations in Google, Maps and AI.
  • It works for franchise brands and for retail chains with their own branches.
  • Packages cost €99, €250 or €400 per location per month, excluding VAT.
  • Head office remains the owner of all Google Business Profiles.
  • We measure results with a ranking grid and customer actions per location.

What do you outsource with local SEO?

Local SEO is the work that makes a location appear when someone nearby searches, in Google Search, in Google Maps and increasingly in AI assistants. For a chain, above all it is a lot of work: a profile, reviews, posts, photos and a page for every location, and all of that again every month.

Does outsourcing local SEO also work for a retail chain that is not a franchise?

Yes. A retail chain with its own branches faces the same challenge: many locations under one brand, each with its own profile and local competition. The difference lies in the agreements: with branches, head office decides everything; with franchising, you have to bring franchisees along. Our way of working suits both; only the communication with the locations differs. You can read more about the approach for chains with many locations under local marketing for multiple locations.

Why not do local SEO yourself with your own team?

You can, but it scales badly. Maintaining a profile properly takes a few hours a month; with fifty locations, that is a full-time job. On top of that, Google changes the rules regularly, and one mistake can get a profile suspended. In our experience, in-house teams mainly lack time, not knowledge.

What does outsourced local SEO deliver?

More visibility in Maps, more customer actions (calls, directions, website visits) and a better reputation per location. We measure it with a ranking grid around each location and with the actions from the Google Business Profiles. How to translate that into return is covered in calculating return per location. You can read about the technical side of profile management under managing Google Business Profiles.

How do you start outsourcing local SEO?

With the free, no-obligation marketing scan of three locations. This is followed by a pilot with ten to fifteen locations and only then the roll-out. Everything about the craft itself can be found under local visibility per location and in Gijs's handbook.

How does local SEO also help with visibility in AI assistants?

AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews use profiles, reviews and location pages to recommend a provider. The more consistent and complete that information is per location, the greater the chance of a mention. Outsourced local SEO is therefore also the foundation for AI visibility. In the Full service package, we measure this with fixed questions across multiple assistants.

Who carries out the local SEO for your locations?

Our permanent team and ten freelancers trained by us. Angela analyses local visibility and leads per location, Peter builds local authority with citations and links, and the freelancers look after profiles and reviews according to fixed protocols. Gijs Bodenstaff maintains contact with your head office and safeguards quality. Every week we train the whole team on changes at Google.

Who is behind this approach to outsourcing local SEO?

He set up a franchise brand himself in ten countries. The execution lies with our permanent team: Angela (Local SEO analyst), Elisabeth (local Google Ads), Peter (Local SEO and link building), co-author and researcher Stanley Leijnse and ten regular freelancers trained by us.

Frequently asked questions about outsourcing local SEO

What does outsourcing local SEO cost?
From €99 per location per month for profile management, €250 including review management and €400 including local landing pages and AI visibility, excluding VAT.
Do locations have to hand over their Google Business Profile?
Head office should own the organisation account. Locations keep read access and provide local input, so the brand stays protected.
How quickly will we see results?
Profile improvements often show up in Maps within a few weeks. We measure structural growth per quarter.
Do you also work for branch-based companies?
Yes. The approach is the same; only the agreements with locations differ compared with franchising.
What happens to duplicate or suspended profiles?
We track them down during the baseline measurement and resolve them through Google's procedures, with a well-substantiated reinstatement or merge request.
What is the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?
Regular SEO focuses on the search results for the website as a whole. Local SEO focuses on visibility per location in Google Maps and the local pack, with the Google Business Profile, reviews and local citations as the most important factors.
Can franchisees see what is being done for their location?
Yes. Every location receives its own figures each month, compared with the chain average, plus a short explanation of what has been done.
What is the difference between the packages when you outsource local SEO?
Basic costs €99 per location per month and covers profile management and NAP monitoring. Growth costs €250 and adds review management and posts. Full service costs €400 and adds local landing pages and AI visibility, measured with fixed questions in several assistants. All prices exclude VAT, with one report for the entire chain.
How much time does local SEO take if you do it with your own team?
Maintaining a profile properly takes a few hours a month per location; with fifty locations that is a full-time job. Google also changes its rules regularly, and a mistake can get a profile suspended. In our experience, in-house teams mainly lack time, not knowledge. Outsourcing gives you a fixed price per location.
How do you measure the results of outsourced local SEO per location?
We measure with a ranking grid around each location, showing how high it ranks in Maps at different points in the surrounding area. We also count customer actions from the Google Business Profiles: calls, direction requests and website visits. In the Full service package we also measure AI visibility with fixed questions in several assistants.
